PROGRAM CURRICULUM (3-4 months)

The Master Study program is designed for students to learn while working on real life projects. This program will also help to remove the freshers tag when you work on the project. Below are the activities the students will perform during the program:

The detailed engineering studies:
This part of the program will revise almost every aspects of the engineering concepts used in the industry. Following are the topics to be covered:

  • Revision of civil fundamentals and its application to the industrial projects

  • Knowledge of wind engineering, earthquake engineering field

  • Working on shell, membrane, plate, mass source, diaphragm action, etc.

  • Structural loading:

    •        Dead load, live load, seismic load, wind load

    •        Temperature loading

    •        Fire-fighting setup loading

    •        Stair case loading

    •        Lift loading

    •        Overhead water tank loading

  • Design as per Indian IS codes (456-2000, 800-2007, 1893-2016, 875, 13920, 16700) and international codes (BS 8110, ACI 318, CEB FIP 90, UBC 97)

  • Design as per IS 2000 standards and 2016 standards, comparison between result.

Inclusion of cyclone and tsunami impact on buildings

  • FEA analysis of the design

  • Reading of codes

Following software to be used for the projects:

  • AutoCAD 2D and Rebar

  • ETABS for analysis and design

  • SAFE for foundation design

  • SAP2000 for complex and dynamic structures

  • RCDC for detailing

  • Spreadsheets based design

Additional software are advised to be included to gain upper edge in the industry:

  • STAAD.Pro and STAAD Foundation (optional)

  • CSI Bridge (optional)

SITE VISITS

PLACEMENT ORIENTED ACTIVITIES

In addition to giving opportunity to work in real life successful industrial projects to gain latest skills required in the industry, we also provide following key areas on which the recruiting companies focus:

  • Revision of fundamentals

  • Civil engineering theory tests

  • Aptitude tests and suggestion for improvement needed

  • Tool test for project on latest software

  • Software features and functionality test

  • Soft skills improvement by extempore presentation

  • Power-point presentation for a given topic to be presented to a group of faculties, students, and industrial experts

  • Mock interview as per aspirations of individual candidates

  • Preparation of professional resume

  • Preparation of industrial portfolio

FINAL PROJECT WORK

We assign a final project to the students. It has to be submitted within a given timeline. Typically, to complete a medium size project, students will get three hours to complete the same to submit following components:

  • RCC structure design and analysis report

  • Floor plan, elevation and section views of critical areas

  • Final drawing as submitted to the government authority for approvals.

All of the above activities are to be completed within 3 hours. Once students are skilled to achieve this efficiency then we consider the student to be ready for the industry. After completion of the final project, the students will undergo tests and mock interviews.

COURSE COMPLETION ACTIVITIES

To complete the course, the students are required to clear:

  • Theory tests performance above minimum passing marks as expected by industry. You may check your current level of fundamentals by taking your online test by clicking here.
